Bodegas Andreu Sole

Find a vineyard in Puerto Rico’s coast in the town of Guanica. The vineyard is open for tours in the Sunday afternoons until 5PM. They produce a young wine kept in wooden barrels for 3 – 6 months. They also have a wide variety of artisan liquors infused with fruit flavors.

What is most attractive to locals is the restaurant and hangout scene created by the family in their backyard and which is barely noticeable when passing by the road that leads to their vineyard. The entrance has very little lighting and resembles the entrance of any regular home. However, once inside you enter a cozy ambiance near the edge of the water.

The restaurant opens Friday and Saturday nights until 1AM and during the afternoons on Sundays. It is highly encouraged to make reservations, as the place is very popular and has limited seating. Also, ask for the wine and liquor sampler.

A word of caution, the ambiance is casual and relaxed. If you come expecting fine dining or world-class wines, you will be hugely disappointed. Rather, this is a place to submerge into a charming family backyard opened to the public to enjoy a wonderful time surrounded by a beautiful natural setting.
