Is is a small island located near to the east of Puerto Rico, near the coast of Las Croabas, Fajardo. This island offers a great deal of seclusion, not only for the fact that its island separate from the mainland, but the only people that are allowed to venture here are guests of the El Conquistador Resort and Golden Door Spa. Palomino Island is the largest of three private islands near Puerto Rico, the other two being Isla de Ramos and Isla de Lobos. The island is owned by the descendants of Alberto Bachman Glauser. Most of the island is rented to El Conquistador Hotel & Casino for their beach and water activities. A ferry is used to get their guests to the island. The trip from the Hotel to the island is approximately eight minutes. Gorgeous sandy beaches encase the lush foliage that resides in the middle of the island, providing a prime location to lounge on the island. Only an eight minute catamaran ride from the resort, this island is also within reach for any adventurous swimmer looking for a solid workout. The abundance of open waters also makes this paradise optimal for wave running and windsurfing. If all this activity is not for you, frozen drinks and hammocks are available to sit back, relax, and take a nap or to watch your loved ones go as you take in the Puerto Rican sun.
